1. What is EView?                                                                                           Back to top

EView was developed by ESRI Australia.  It enables the integration of an organisation’s databases (containing both geographic and textual information) via a simple web browser.

EView provides an ‘information portal’, interpreting queries by identifying the appropriate databases, retrieving and merging the information to present it as a layered map, document or text.

It has many uses.  For example, if a local council was to redevelop a site, an EView query can pinpoint its geographic location from the Asset Management database.  Further information can be drawn from the Property database to identify neighbours to be notified.  Each neighbour’s contact information can then be merged with a letter, with a map and plans inserted, and sent out – quickly and easily.

For detailed product information, please visit ESRI Australia’s web site.

2. What are the main benefits of EView?                                                        Back to top

There are many benefits of using EView.  These include:

  • An organisation can provide all staff with access to the same information, simply using their web browser

  • Information can be shared across applications and throughout departments

  • Less duplication of information, services and operations

  • Timely support for internal operations, analysis, management decision making and customer service  functions

  • The production of high quality, printable maps and reports

  • The provision of an open and scalable business intelligence solution

  • Higher return on investment in information resources

Please visit ESRI Australia’s web site for detailed product information.

3. What is GIS Hosting?                                                                         Back to top

GIS Hosting provides an EView solution that can be tailored to your needs and budget.  It specifically ensures that small to medium Councils can achieve the operational and service delivery benefits provided by EView, without needing to raise funds for a capital purchase of the technology.  A hosted service means a reduced total cost of ownership through a fee for service system and less impact on capital expenditure budgets.

Your organisation’s databases are securely stored and administered by Morton Blacketer.  Only authorised users can access the online information.

A range of printable reports, mail merge and map options can be set up for User Groups (as specified by your organisation) to provide different functionality, depending on requirements.  You can choose to add other databases, customise reporting functions and tailor the service to suit your needs and organisational objectives.
